The following is a
summary of each item.
. ParkSigns-$25,000
This would be the second year of a three year program to replace the park signs.
It is anticipated that 11 park signs would be replaced in 2002. In 2001, 8 park
signsand40parkregulationsignswerereplaced.
VillaParkSoftballLights-$72,000
This is consistent with our efforts to move organized adult softball games from
neighborhood parks into community parks. It is also part of the plan to replace
the softball fields that would taken out of Rosebrook Park as a result of the
construction of the two new soccer fields at Rosebrook. Villa Park (near B-Dale
Club) is an excellent location because there would be no impact on the
surrounding neighbors because of the location of the field and the elevations of
the nearby houses. The B-Dale Club has agreed to contribute to the site
improvements for this field. This lighting would allow us to have the replacement
of one softball field at1/3 the cost of a new field and without requiring more land.
. OlderYouthBaseballFieldUpgrades-$30,000
This is also the second year of a proposed three year project. In 2001,
improvements were made at Concordia, Fairview and Evergreen. Attached are
the recommendations of the Roseville Youth Baseball Association. We are also
working with the Roseville Area Schools on this project.
. RosebrookSoccerFields-$105,000
The City Council approved a grant from Ramsey County of $92,500 to assist in
thisproject.Theprojectincludestheregrading, installationofdraintile, irrigation,
new turf for two regulation soccer fields and the lighting of one field.
