Over time, Roseville's
population has aged along with the City, resulting in a City with a growing middle aged and
senior population and dedining numbers of youngsters. These changes in demographics
have planning implications which the Comprehensive Plan addresses. Fewer children means
fewer students in the Roseville schools. More seniors means greater need for assisted Iiving
facilities and health care clinics. The City must anticipate such demographic sitiits to provide
adequate services for a11 residents.
40,000
35,000
30,000
25,000
20,000
15,000
10,000
5,000
Population by Decade - Actual & Projected
1''?") 196 1970 1980 1990 2000 2010 2020
3
❑ Population by
Decade
Source: Census &
City of Roseville
