Roseville population is older than most
suburbs. Many original home owners from the 1950's and 60's slilll live in theii homes.
ore than 4,500 (30 percent) of the homes have the head of household over the age of6S
and more than 44 percent of a11 homes have a household head over the age 55.Roseville
seniors live longer and are much healthier than previous generations. Roseville will on-
tinue to age in the next 10 years.
As housing becomes availablenid-
career, two income families with
grade school or middle school chil-
dren move into Roseville, And, they
are staying, too, creating a stable
conununity. The turnover rate of
single family homes is less than 3
percent per year in Roseville. The
number of elementary children in
thecommunity(7,100 or21 per-
cent of the total) will remain the
same or slighdy decline. The chil-
dren are dispersed among more
public, private and charter schools
than in the past.
The household size has declined
from 3.S to 2.2 persons per house-
hold in the past 20 • , yet t number of households has increased by 1,400 units (10
percent) because of the combination of children leaving the home and more one and two
person senior housing units being developed.
:
