As the population expands and more job opportunities are created in Roseville, <br />demands on City roads and highways will increase. The Comprehensive Plan helps the City <br />think smart and anticipate jobs and housing growth so that roads can expand or ciange as <br />needed. <br />Many suburbs experien�e �ongestion as they <br />develop and as more people commute <br />through the conununity. Roseville too has <br />seen its roads get pushed to capacity during <br />rush hours. During peak travel days, more <br />than 250,000 vehicles pass through <br />Roseville. The transportation portion of the <br />Comprehensive Plan has to be �reative, sin�e <br />adding lanes and building new roadsisrarely <br />a viable option in Roseville, <br />The foundation of the transportation section is public safety — of pedestrians, bikers and <br />drivers. Hand in hand with safety is efficiency. People want to live in a place that is easy to <br />navigate, in which neighborhood streets serve local traffic, and arterial streets meet fast- <br />moving regional traffic needs. <br />Some of the forward-looking goals of the Comprehensive Plan include planning land uses in <br />ways that ma�mize the e�sting roads without creating congested conditions. The City will <br />identify and correct problem sites where accidents recur. Expansion of the Roseville transit <br />hubcanmal����fr�����nsportationmoreefficientby ��;�������� bus services. Depending <br />upon regional decisions, dedicated bus lanes, busways and light rail may be added to <br />Rosevil(e's future transportation mix. <br />� <br />
