Welsch, Dennis
From: Morrison, Pat
Sent: Wednesday, February 06, 2002 1:33 PM
To: `Neprash, Randy D'
Cc: Welsch, Dennis
Subject: RE: Park-N-Ride at St. Rose of Lima Church
Thank you for your letter which will be distributed to each Planning
Commission member present tonight.
Patricia Morrison
Community Development Department
2660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville, MN 55113
651.490.2279 fax: 651.490.2931
pat.morrison@ci.roseville.mn.us
-----Original Message-----
From: Neprash, Randy D [mailto:rneprash@bonestroo.com]
Sent: Wednesday, February 06, 2002 12:53 pM
To: 'pat.morrison@ci.roseville.mn.us'
Subject: FW: Park-N-Ride at St. Rose of Lima Church
Importance: High
Mr. Paschke:
Please send me a short reply to confirm your receipt of this message.
Thank
you.
I am writing to comment on the request from the Minnesota Sate Fair to
establish a Park-N-Ride at St. Rose of Lima Church. I do not oppose this
request. I live at 1276 Eldridge Ave., immediately east of the Church
parking lot.
I do wish to request that three important conditions be placed on the
Interim Use Permit for this facility. These conditions are:
1. All buses must use the entrance to the Church on Hamline Avenue
and
be banned from using any of the adjacent side streets: Dellwood,
Eldridge,
and Skillman. These streets do not have sidewalks and are used
frequently by
pedestrians, especially children. These people are accustomed to very
little
traffic on these streets and do not alter their behavior during the
State
Fair. If buses use these streets, this results in a very dangerous
condition. I have personally witnessed occasions where children were
walking
north on DellwOOd and buses have stopped only just in time as they
turned
the corner from Eldridge.
2. When the Church parking lot is full, the overflow patrons must
be
advised to park at other Park-N-Ride locations instead of on the
adjacent
neighboring streets. In the past, the people supervising the parking
have
told patrons to use the neighboring streets. This has caused
inconvenience
for the neighbors and a dangerous condition on the streets.
1
