MEMBERSHIP AND FUNDING <br />Section 52 Membership and Dues <br />All active members of the Roseville Fire Department, all persons on approved leave of <br />absence from the Roseville Fire Department shall be eligible to membership in said <br />Association upon the payment of such dues as may be determined by the Board of <br />Trustees, payable annually at or before the regular annual meeting of said Association. <br />No person who is serving as a substitute volunteer firefighter shall be deemed to be a <br />member of this Association. The Board of Trustees may exclude from membership in this <br />Association any applicant who, due to some medically determinable physical or mental <br />impairment or condition, would constitute for the Association a predictable and <br />unwarranted risk of the commencement of a retirement benefit at an age earlier than fifty <br />(50) years of age, or any applicant who would increase the risk of injury to the applicant or <br />other firefighters while engaged in active service. <br />Section 53 Membership Compulsory <br />Membership in the Association shall be compulsory for all members of the Roseville Fire <br />Department. <br />Section 54 Failure to Pay Dues <br />Any member failing to pay annual dues within fifteen (15) days after the Annual Meeting <br />shall be notified of such delinquency by the Secretary, and if not paid within fifteen (15) <br />days after mailing such notice, the Board of Trustees may, by resolution, cancel their <br />membership. Any member may be reinstated to membership within sixty (60) days <br />thereafter by paying the dues arrearages. <br />Section 55 Pension Benefits <br />Any member discharged, expelled or who has resigned from the Roseville Fire <br />Department or from the Relief Association before their right to service pension benefits <br />has been approved or vested, shall forfeit for themselves, their Surviving Spouse and <br />minor children all claims for any benefits payable pursuant to these Bylaws, provided <br />however, no such forfeiture shall result from a granting of a leave of absence from the <br />Fire Department or the Relief Association. <br />Section 56 Expulsion <br />Any member who shall be determined by the Board of Trustees to be or have been <br />feigning sickness or injury for the purpose of avoiding the member's responsibility for <br />service or to secure benefits to which the member is not entitled shall be expelled. <br />Section 57 Funds of Association <br />All moneys received by the Association shall be kept in two separate funds as set forth <br />below. <br />Section 58 General Fund <br />Funds received from dues, fines, initiation fees, entertainments, and all money or property <br />donated, given, granted or devised by any person, for the benefit of said fund or for <br />unspecified uses, shall be kept in a general fund and may be disbursed upon a majority <br />vote of the members of the Board of Trustees for any purpose reasonably suited to <br />14 <br />
