I will try to attend the meeting.
Background:
. St. Rose of Lima Church has run a Park-N-Ride facility for the NIN State Fair for several
years. This facility has operated Mondays — Fridays, permitting the church to use its
parking lot for church-related activities on weekends. The use of this lot has apparently
been supervised by members of the St. Rose of Lima men's club. This is the first time
that I am aware, within 7 years residence, of any notice/hearing to determine use and/or
conditions for establishment of a Park-N-Ride lot at this location.
. The parking lot is bordered by residential streets Eldridge Ave. and Dellwood Ave.
There is no sidewalk on these streets. The streets are heavily used by pedestrians and
children on bicycles/skateboards. Children on bicycles and pedestrians have narrowly
avoided being run-over by MN State Fair buses turning from Eldridge Ave. onto
Dellwood Ave., durin t ye-swfttNs lotgopara6onx h e b u s e s t o
Hamline Ave. was accomplished by calling Dan Elmer, MN State Fair, after each
incident. Discussion of the safetv issues, and reauest for reroutin8 were
accomplished bv conversation between neihborhood residents and Dan Elmer.
Members of the St. Rose men's club were uninterested/unaware of the safety issues.
• There is a Hamline Ave. entrance/et to this parking lot. Traffic for Park-N-Ride has
been directed to use the residential streets Eldridge Ave., Skillman Ave., and Dellwood
Ave. to access this lot.
. St. Rose of Lima Church owns a residence, 1284 Eldridge Ave., which is currently
occupied by a family with elementary school-age children. This home is immediately
bordered by the parking lot on two sides of the property.
