ROSEVILLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MEMO
T0: NEAL BEETS
FROM: DENNIS WELSCH, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
RE: 3 5 W COALITION WORK PLAN FOR 2002-2006
DATE: FEBRUARY 15, 2002
Yesterday I attended the North Metro I-35W Coalition Community Development Directors
meeting and received the attached charts illustrating the project work programs by each city for
the next 5 years. Roseville (from our staffj submitted the whole compliment of Twin Lakes
construction issues and a$12 million cost as part of the work plan. As you review this, note that
some communities included many more projects and funding gaps in their five-year plan.
Roseville's Twin Lakes Parkway is considered the most "ready" for construction and consistently
ranks at the top of the Coalition list for projects to promote to the state. On April 22 the Board
will hear the fmal report on the land use Build-Out study and later this year, the transportation
capacity reparts.
The Build-Out Study estimates the following population and employment by 2020:
EXISTING (2000): 59,500 Already Built 98,720 Jobs Here Today
Currently, in Roseville, the number percentage of working households (age 15 through 64) is
the lowest in the Coalition at 69%. This is primarily due to the high number of retired residents.
The average throughout the 7 cities is 80%.
