"
Dear Dennis:
Thank you and Debra Bloom for meeting with me about transit shelters and amenities
(e.g. benches, bike lockers/racks, newspaper corrals, etc.) at bus stops in Roseville. This
will provide the City of Roseville with additional information about our transit
amenity program, community agreement, and products and services.
It is our experience that safe, convenient, and weather-protective bus stops are an
important yet neglected connection between citizens and public transit. It is also an
expensive proposition to equip bus stops with transit shelters, and to maintain them
year-round. Each year, Metro Transit's budget is limited in dollars for new shelter
installations-and more importantly, maintenance of existing shelters. As a
consequence, few shelters are installed and maintenance is minimized.
Outdoor Promotions, Inc. has developed numerous public/private partnerships with
cities to equip bus stops with safe, clean, and weather-protecting shelters. We have
implemented programs in Colorado, Wyoming and California which provide us with
expertise in the development of programs from the planning stages through
construction and on-going maintenance. In addition, we offer a number of products,
all matching in style and color that will significantly raise the quality of image and
service of bus stops in Roseville.
We offer a privately funded shelter and amenity program implemented directly with
the city. We begin by listening to Roseville's needs, concerns, and directions for
improved public transit. We do not come to Roseville with prescribed solutions or
products. Instead, we work with you to create the set of transit amenities desired
by Roseville. Our program enables Roseville to directly control the
location, construction and maintenance of bus stop improvements;
In addition, for Metro Transit, our program eliminates a costly
budget item while equipping more bus stops with shelters 5 z S.CollegeAvenue
that meet your community n,eds. : Fort com, CO 80525
r / 4'iNl !(' ,/ 970.266.0979
11 V' `J FAX 970.225.1560
