EXTRACT OF MIN UTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF TI� CITY OF ROSEVII,LE, MN <br />Pursuant to due ca11 and notice there, a regular meeting of the City� Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, NTinnesota, was duly held on the 5` day of May 2002, at <br />6:30 p.m. <br />The following members were present: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Member introduced the following resolution and moved it adoption: <br />RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE DESIGNATION OF <br />ST. CHRISTOPHER'S CHURCH, 2300 HAMLINE AVENUE <br />AS A CEMETERY (COLUMBARIUM ONLY) SITE <br />WITHIN CITY 1N VENTORY OF CEMETERIES <br />WHEREAS, St. Christopher's Church, 2300 Hamline Avenue, has requested <br />approval to create a Columbarium (a repository for the cremated ashes of deceased <br />persons) on the site or in the church; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Code, Section 40 1.04 requires the Council to designate a <br />"cemetery" before the Council may issue a permit (together with a building permit) to St. <br />Christopher's for the burial of the dead (ashes only) in the columbarium; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council has determined that due to recent changes in burial <br />trends and technology, retaining the cremains (ashes) near to the family and community <br />is an important part of the grieving and historical process and continues the concept of <br />"sense of place within the community"; and <br />WHEREAS, this use appears to be consistent with the permitted church and <br />cemetery uses within an "R-1" Single Family zoning districts; <br />NOW, TNF,RF.FORE, BE TT RESOLVID, that the Roseville City Council hereby <br />designates St. Christopher's Church, 2300 Halnline Avenue, legally described as: <br />Section 10, Town 29, Range 23, SW'/ of NW `/ of SE'/o (Subj. to <br />Hwy. Roads and easements) in Section I0, Tn 29, Rn 23 (PID#1 02923420012) <br />As a cemetery (Columbarium only) site within the City inventory of cemeteries, and <br />further, approves the issuance of a permit to approve the St. Christopher's Church <br />Columbarium. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in fa�or <br />thereo£ <br />and the following were absent: <br />WHEREUPON, said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
