A• <br />Agenda Section: <br />Recogni�ians - <br />Item Description: Accepting a Donation from the Roseville VFW Post 7555 <br />Background <br />Over the years the City of Roseville has received many donations ftom citizens and program <br />participants. These gifts have been in the form of both materials and monies. When staff is notified <br />of a potential donation, they first make a determination of whether to recommend acceptance based <br />on the suitability of the item for the city. A request for authorization is then forwarded to the City <br />Council. <br />Policv. <br />The following is the City of Roseville's policy regarding the acceptance of donations: <br />❑ Minnesota Statute requires all donations to be officially accepted by the City Council. <br />❑ The staff will not solicit donations. <br />❑ Donors will be informed that no conditions or promises of future favorable city action <br />on their behalf may be attached to the gift. <br />❑ Following Council acceptance, staff will send a letter of appreciation to each donor. <br />Financial Implications <br />Approved donations for budgeted items will result in a budget reduction. Items or monies for items <br />or programs not budgeted will not be purchased or conducted unless the Council approves the <br />donations. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff recommends acceptance of these donations. <br />Request for Council Action <br />Motion authorizing acceptance of the following donations: <br />NAME ITEM A1�IOUNT <br />Roseville VFW Post 7555 Automatic external defibrillator $ 2,182.00 <br />
