REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 06/25/02 <br />Item Number: *y��II. �. <br />Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Consent <br />� <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION <br />St. Rose of Lima Church One Day Gambling License <br />BACKGROUND <br />St. Rose of Lima Church has applied for an Exemption from Lawful Gambling Licensing <br />Requirements to conduct lawful gambling activities on September 29, 2002 at St. Rose of Lima <br />School and grounds located at 2048 Hamline Ave North. <br />The Minnesota Charitable Gambling Regulations allow any nonprofit organization, which <br />conducts lawful gambling for less than five (5) days per year, and total prizes do not exceed <br />$50,000.00 in value, to be exempt from the licensing requirements if the city approves. <br />COUNCII, ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion approving St. Rose of Lima Church requestto conduct a raftle on September29,2002, at <br />St. Rose School and grounds located at 2048 Hamline Ave North. <br />
