Requestfor CouncilAction
:
Ir: II. A.
DepartmentApproval ManagerApproval Agenda Section

Item Description: Review Architectural Concepts and Public Information Pieces
Relating to the Renovation of the Police Department and Public Works Maintenance
Yard and Facilities
Backaround
The City Council has directed Staff and Ankeny Kell Architects to develop conceptual plans
for renovating the Roseville Police and Public Works Maintenance Buildings. Pursuant to
that Council direction, Staff and Ankeny Kell were to return on July 15 to brief the Council.
This is that briefing. Attached are the architects concepts.
In addition, communication sta.ff have drafted possible public information pieces relating to
the facility renovations. Those drafts follow the architects concepts.
:r;ll h,f]vLFt {,`'1
Consistent with the timeline Council approved for this Project, Council is asked to select
the renovation concepts you prefer by your Council Meeting on July 29. Staff also seeks
Council feedback about the drafted public information pieces.
Once Council selects the preferred building concepts, Ankeny Kell will refine those concepts
and cost them out. Ankeny Kell will then return to the City Council, I hope in August, to
brief you about cost estimates to build your preferred concepts.
After approving concepts and costs, the Council will be ready to consider approving the
Resolution calling for a November bond referendum and specifying the components and
costs of the proposed facilities.
