The following is a summary of the activities on the Natural Resource Management Plan: <br />. Council approves grant application to DNR on 1-22-01. <br />. Council approves acceptance of grant from DNR on 5-21-01. <br />. The Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed and recommended the project at their <br />June 5, 2001 meeting. <br />. Community meeting held on June 12 at 7 p.m. at the Falrview Center to receive input on <br />plan. <br />. Bonestroo, Rosene and Anderlik completed the site inventories of the five parks during <br />June through November of 200 1. <br />. BRA held several conferences updating Roseville staff on their progress and specific <br />issues in the study. <br />. A draft table of contents was developed in February. <br />. A draft water quality reporting chart was completed. <br />. An uplands report draft was completed. <br />. Sample GIS reports were reviewed. <br />. NIN Land Cover Classification System digital data sample was completed and sent to Mr. <br />Bart Richardson of the DNR <br />. Staff receives draft Natural Resource Management Plan from BRA on March 15. <br />. The Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the draft Natural Resource Management <br />Plan at their April 2, 2002 meeting. <br />. A Public Hearing to review draft plan was at the April 15, 2002 Council Meeting. <br />. After the April 1 S, 2002 Public Hearing a timeframe through May 3, 2002 was <br />established for further community input and five comment letters were received. <br />. Staff receives Final report from BRA in June incorporating the community comments <br />that were within the scope of the project <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />The project is consistent with the policy of leveraging other public and private resources to obtain <br />funding to offset the costs of planning and development. It is also consistent with the Roseville <br />Parks and Recreation System Plan and the City's efforts as outlined in the Vista 2000 goals to <br />improve our environment through the protection and improvement of our natural resources. It is <br />also consistent with our efforts to partner with other agencies. <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br />The City has provided matching funds of $24,446. The City's portion is being taken from the 2001 <br />Park Improvement Program (PIl'). Although the plan outlines potential future costs, this action has <br />no financial obligations for the City. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Based on the policy of providing public input on projects, staff recommends that the City Council <br />adopt the final report of the Roseville Parks and Recreation Natural Resource Management Plan. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion adopting the fmal report of the Roseville Parks and Recreation Natural Resource <br />Management Plan. <br />
