Recommendation: <br />Meet the City's stated environmental goals and provide multi-family complexes the service for <br />which they are currently paying, but not receiving, by expanding the current program to include <br />multi-family complexes. The committee recommends the City phase in the addition of multi- <br />family complexes beginning with all townhome and condo complexes not currently in the <br />curbside collection program and eventually include apartment buildings. The current fee system <br />would be scrapped. Multi-family complexes would be assessed the recycling fee the City pays <br />the hauler only after the complex is added to the program. Work aggressively with multi-family <br />owners and managers to coordinate implementation and on-going education campaigns on <br />recycling. <br />56 <br />
