The City of <br />�1 <br />�.,�r� <br />Proclamation <br />Toastmasters Month <br />Whereas: Toastmasters International, the world's leading organization devoted to <br />communications, public speaking and leadership skills, provides a mutually- <br />supportive and positive learning environment in which members have the <br />opportunity to develop their communication and `leadership skills; and <br />Whereas: Toastmasters, founded in October 1924, has over 175,000 members in 63 <br />countries and more than 230 clubs in District 6(Minnesota and Ontario, <br />Canada); and <br />Whereas: Toastmasters Clubs of 20-30 people who gather weekly to follow an agenda <br />of prepared speeches, impromptu speeches and evaluations as members <br />learn through practice, by listening to one another and by studying <br />educational manuals from Toastmasters International; and <br />Whereas: There are ten Toastmasters clubs that meet in the City of Roseville: Capitol <br />Square, First Energizers, Four Seasons, King of Clubs, King Webster, Midland, <br />MNRPCV, Rat Pack, Unysis and Tech Masters; <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council and the City of Roseville does <br />hereby declare October 2002 to be Toastmasters Month in the City of Roseville. <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of <br />Roseville to be affixed this 30th day of September 2002. <br />John Kysylyczyn, Mayor <br />
