Regular City Council Minutes — 09/23/02 <br />DRAFT Copy - Minutes - Page 10 <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn asked specifically if it was the consensus of <br />the RSWARCAC that multi-family housing be included in <br />servicing by the City's Residential Recycling Program. Mr. <br />Wozniak, on behalf of the RSWARCAC, answered in the <br />affirmative. <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn asked if there had been consensus of the <br />RSWARCAC regarding a single stream or two-sort system. <br />Mr. Wozniak stated that there was no consensus on this issue, <br />and stated that was why there were several options <br />recommended for Council consideration. <br />Judy Wood, 3060 West Owasso Blvd. <br />Ms. Wood, another RSWARCAC member, spoke to the <br />conveniences of a single sort system; the excellent participation <br />of residents in the program, with higher goals anticipated; and <br />expressed her personal preference for a single sort system, even <br />at a higher cost to the City. <br />Todd Anderson, 2796 Marion Street <br />Mr. Anderson, Vice-Chair of the newly-formed Public Works <br />and Transportation Commission, having also served on the <br />RSWARCAC, stated that he looked forward to continuing <br />discussions, but asked that more time be allowed to reach a <br />consensus for recommendation to the City Council. <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn suggested amending his motion to solicit <br />bids for both single and two-sort options, with both including <br />multi-family units; then forward those two options to the Public <br />Works and Transportation commission, anticipating their <br />recommendation being forwarded to the City Council within <br />five (5) weeks. <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn recognized two (2) vendors in the audience <br />for public comment. <br />Gary Boyum, Waste Management (current vendor) <br />Mr. Boyum expressed his appreciation for the City's business <br />to-date and reminded Councilmembers of previous discussions <br />with the Council regarding advantages and disadvantages of <br />
