<br />EXTRACf OF MINUfES OF rvIEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />OF ROSEVILLE, NINNESOfA, HELD April 26, 1971 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular neeting <br />of the Village Council of the Village of Rosevi11e, Ramsey County, <br />Minnesota, was duly held in the Village Hall, 2701 North Lexington <br />Avenue, Roseville, Minnesota, on the 26 day of April 1971. <br /> <br />The following nembers were present: Mayor ~bll, Councilnen <br />Curley, Grate!, Anderson and Linebarger <br /> <br />and the following nembers were absent: None <br /> <br />~'Ember Grauel <br />moved its adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5651 <br /> <br />IN OPPOSITION TO SENATE FILE 1204 AND HOUSE FILE <br />1556 RELATING TO TIlE FREEZING OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT <br />PROPERrY TAXES AT A DOLLAR MOUNT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Village Comci1 of the Village of Roseville <br />has reviewed Senate File 1204 and House File 1556 <br />relating to the freezing of property taxes at a <br />dollar am01.mt; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Village of Roseville that <br />enactnent of such a bill would make it difficult or <br />impossible to continue to provide the sane level and <br />quality of mmicipal services in future years; and <br /> <br />'WI-lEREAS, the Village Comcil of the Village of Roseville is <br />of the opinion that the adoption of Senate File 1204 <br />and House File 1556 would not be in the best interests <br />of the citizens of the Village of Roseville; <br /> <br />Na.v, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Comcil of the <br />Village of Roseville, Minnesota, that the Village <br />Comcil strenuously objects to the enactment of <br />Senate File 1204 and House File 1556. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Village Comcil of the Village <br />of Roseville that the Village Comcil recognizes the need <br />for and endorses the desirability of property tax relief; <br />
