Based upon the discussion at your last meeting, the meeting is anticipated to
have two agenda items as follows:
A. Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update
The final scheduled CAT meeting is set for Thursday, August 5, 2010 to review and comment on the
final draft plan. At the meeting Michael Schroeder, LHB will provide an overview presentation of the
report.
As part of the meeting the next steps will be discussed, including the "path to implementation". The City
Manager, Bill Malinen feels that there has been such a fine job done and that the community has been
so well informed with momentum up that he has suggested a partial plan implementation be considered
for the Fall, 2010 election. Enclosed you will find a memo from me to Mr. Malinen indicating work
anticipated yet to be done on the plan and my brief thoughts on the suggested fall 2010 election. Mr.
Malinen has suggested that an election question focus on "maintaining what we have well" and not
more than $8M total, which translates into about $39 per year or $3.25 per month for a home valued at
$250,000. The list of projects that this may include is included in your packet. Your thoughts and
feelings would be appreciated.
Requested Commission Action: Discuss and provide feedback.
6.
