<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of the city of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly <br />held on the 28th day of March, 1994, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mastel, Wiski, <br />Goedeke, and V. Johnson, and the following were absent: <br /> <br />P. Johnson, <br />None. <br /> <br />Member P. Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9070 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO SIGN <br />SISTER CITY AGREEMENT <br />WITH CARTAGO, COSTA RICA <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a sister City relationship is one of the fundamental elements <br />for better understanding between peoples, strengthens friendships, and <br />promotes peace; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a sister City relationship between cities of different <br />nations particularly benefits initiative to enhance and promote <br />cooperation among peoples; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is mutual interest in creating a bond of cooperation <br />and exchange to stimulate contacts among all the individual sectors <br />that form the civic, social, and economic fabric of our cities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville and the City of Cartago desire to form <br />a sister City relationship that will become a vital part of our <br />communities; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Mayor Vern Johnson, Mayor of the <br />City of Roseville, Minnesota, is hereby authorized to sign the sister <br />City Agreement. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Member Goedeke, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the <br />following voted in favor thereof: Mastel, Wiski, P. Johnson, Goedeke, <br />and V. Johnson, and the following voted against the same: None. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
