EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the city of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 28th day of March, 1994, at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Mastel, Wiski, Goedeke, and V. Johnson, and the following were absent: P. Johnson, None. Member P. Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 9070 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO SIGN SISTER CITY AGREEMENT WITH CARTAGO, COSTA RICA WHEREAS, a sister City relationship is one of the fundamental elements for better understanding between peoples, strengthens friendships, and promotes peace; and WHEREAS, a sister City relationship between cities of different nations particularly benefits initiative to enhance and promote cooperation among peoples; and WHEREAS, there is mutual interest in creating a bond of cooperation and exchange to stimulate contacts among all the individual sectors that form the civic, social, and economic fabric of our cities; and WHEREAS, the City of Roseville and the City of Cartago desire to form a sister City relationship that will become a vital part of our communities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Mayor Vern Johnson, Mayor of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, is hereby authorized to sign the sister City Agreement. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Goedeke, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mastel, Wiski, P. Johnson, Goedeke, and V. Johnson, and the following voted against the same: None. WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
