M ck-:w 11 6 1
ESSAY
theme:why and how would you respond
to your best friend if that friend made. a
racial remark about someone you both know.
If a best friend of nine made a racial remark about another person that friend and I both
know, that friend would probably not be nay best friend, or nay friend at all and if not..at least I
would have a different view of that friend. I would not tell the person who the remark was made
to, since it would probably hurt their feelings and self- esteem,, but try to ignore it or better to tell
that person what he has done wrong and hove he has offended rye and that other person. If that
friend was a really good trusting friend I would ask him why he said it and to think about how the
other person feels.
Some people make their remarks as and "put-downs" to make themselves feel
better an more popular and also to put the other person down not thinking about what they are.
doing to that. person, nor what impact it will have on them feelings and self esteem. The person
who would be likely made fun of is someone probably not popular and sometimes made fun of by
others because of a different race, color of skin,, hair, or anything somebody co find to remark
or put down that person with to rake themselves more popular and. rarely just say it out of hate
to that person.
With more crime, violence, and hatred in the world, differences es in people are the excuse
for people who hurt or harm others e or physically to make themselves feel bett an
to gain power or popularity.
