<br />EXTRA,CT OF i'HWTES OF i'iEETING OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA - HELD <br />June 10, 1974 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular <br />meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, ;,,1innesota, <br />Vias duly called and held at the City Hall at 7:30 p.r'" ;:onday, <br />.June 10, 1974. <br /> <br />The follovJinCj members \'Jere present: <br />COlIDcilmen Brennan, Curley, Hess and Demos <br />and the following \vere absent: None <br /> <br />Mayor Linebarger, <br /> <br />i,ember Curley "introduced the follm'JinSl resolution <br />and moved its adoptlon: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6115 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Water Resources Soard has scheduled a <br />public hearing for June 13, 1974, for the purpose of receiving <br />testimony relating to the establishment of the proposed Dattle Creek <br />Watershed District; and <br /> <br />1JHEREAS, this proposed \'/atershed district \\!ould encompass other <br />natural watershed basins in addition to the Battle Creek basin; and <br /> <br />;,mEREAS, the citizens of Roseville would receive little direct <br />benefit from being involved in this watershed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the establishment of this watershed district would <br />potentially cause added tax burdens to be placed on the citizenry <br />of Rosevi1le; and <br /> <br />'.vHEREAS, other governmental bodies already exercise jurisdiction <br />over these various areas: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Roseville is <br />opposed to being included as part of the proposed Battle Creek Watershed <br />Di s tri ct; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this information be made known at <br />the public hearing of June 13, where the matter will be heard. <br />
