EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE, RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA HELD - February 24, 1975 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly held at the City Hall in said City on Monday, February 24, 1975, at 7:30 P.M. The following members were present: Mayor Linebarger, Councilmen Curley, Demos, Hess and Brennan and the following were absent: None. Member Demos introduced and moved the adoption of the following resolution: RESOLUTION NO. 6219 WHEREAS, Senate File No. 436 has been introduced which is a bill for an act which would allow the sale of wine in Grocery Stores; and WHEREAS, it is our understanding that a companion bill for the same act is being prepared for introduction in the House of Representatives; and WHEREAS, passage of this bill would increase substantially the number of new outlets for the sale of wine, an intoxicating beverage; and WHEREAS, we believe an act such as this would increase the number of illegal sales to the intoxicated, the minor and the problem drinker; and WHEREAS, we feel that the sale of an intoxicating beverage such as wine should be sold only in exclusive liquor stores to maintain effective controls; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of Ros~ville hereby request the members of the State Legislature and the Governor to vote against or reject any bill which would allow the sale of any intoxicating beverage in other than an exclusive liquor store. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council man Hess and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: All present
