<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF SPECIAL ~ffiETING OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE, RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />HELD - March 3, 1975 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the <br />City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly held at the <br />City Hall in said City on Monday, March 3, 1975, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mayor Linebarger, Councilmen <br />Demos, Hess, Brennan, and Curley. <br /> <br />and the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Hess introduced and moved the adoption of the following <br />resolution: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6225 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, proper nutrition is the most basic need of human growth and <br />development, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, hunger and its devastating effects are endured by more children <br />on the face of the earth today than at any time in the history of the world, <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, hunger is a problem that transcends geographical and political <br />boundaries, and is present in virtually ev~ry country, state, and city, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Shares for Hunger is seeking to aid this massive <br />challenge by calling on citizens throughout Minnesota to participate in a <br />voluntary fast and donate the material equivalent of those meals to UNICEF <br />and CARE on an international basis, and to community Food Shelves on a <br />state basis. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Roseville support <br />MINNESOTA SHARES FOR HUNGER DAY AND ENCOURAGES ALL THE PEOPLE of our <br />community support it to the utmost. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Councilwoman Demos and upon vote being taken thereon, the <br />following voted in favor thereof: All present. <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: None. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON, said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
