<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE, RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />HELD - March 3, 1975 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the <br />City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly held at the <br />City Hall in said City on Monday, March 3, 1975, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mayor Linebarger, Councilmen <br />Demos, Hess, Brennan, and Curley. <br /> <br />and the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Brennan introduced and moved the adoption of the following <br />resolution: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6226 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL TO APPLY <br />FOR HOUSING ASSISTANCE FUNDS FOR IMPLEMENTATION WITHIN THE <br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville desires to assist lower income families <br />and elderly to obtain adequate housing in the City of Roseville at a price <br />they can afford, and to accomplish this purpose desire to apply for federal <br />funds to undertake a program of subsidizing rent payments to landlords who <br />provide adequate housing to such individuals and families, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has been duly organized pursuant to <br />Minnesota Statutes Section 473.06, Subd. 3, Section 473B.06, Subd. 14, and <br />has all the powers and duties of a housing and redevelopment authority pur- <br />suant to Laws 1974, Chapter 359 under the provisions of the Municipal <br />Housing and Redevelopment Act, Minnesota Statutes, Sections 462.411 to <br />462.711 and acts amendatory. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Roseville that the <br />Metropolitan Council is hereby authorized to include the City of Roseville <br />in its application for federal funds to implement a program of rental assist- <br />ance to lower income families and elderly, and that upon federal approval <br />for such application, the City of Roseville and the Metropolitan Council will <br />enter into an agreement for operating the program within the City. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Councilman Curley and upon vote being taken thereon the <br />following voted in favor thereof: All present. <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: None. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON, said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
