<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA, HELD MARCH 17, 1975 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular <br />meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, <br />was duly called and held at the City Hall in said City on the <br />17th day of March, 1975, at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mayor Linebarger, <br />Councilmen Demos, Hess, Brennan and Curley <br /> <br />and the following members were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Curley introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6235 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been legislation introduced into <br />the 1975 Minnesota Legislature commonly described as "Ban the <br />Can" legislation, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of Roseville, Minnesota, <br />believes that such legislation would have a serious detrimental <br />affect on the economic well being of those persons who directly <br />or indirectly derive their earned income from those employment <br />related businesses and industries, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there are a number of businesses and industries <br />which would be adversely affected by such legislation and that such <br />affect would have a further deleterious impact on the economy of <br />the State of Minnesota; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of <br />Roseville, Minnesota is opposed to any legislation described as <br />"Ban the Can" legislation which would have a serious adverse <br />economic affect on the employment, business and economy of the State <br />of Minnesota. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be instruct~d <br />to forward copies of this resolution to each of the State legislators <br />representing the City of Roseville. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution <br />was duly seconded by Councilman Demos, and upon a vote being taken <br />the following voted in favor thereof: All present <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: None <br />
