EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA - HELD MARCH 31, 1975 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota was duly held at the City Hall in said City on Monday, March 31, 1975, at 7:30 P.M. The following members were present: Councilmen Demos, Hess, Brennan and Curley Mayor Linebarger, and the following were absent: None Councilman Hess introduced and moved the adoption of the following resolution: RESOLUTION NO. 6240 RESOLUTION FINDING AND DECLARING THE NEED FOR AND ESTABLISHING A HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY TO FUNCTION IN THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE ~IEREAS, the City Council of the City of Roseville has met to consider the establishment of a Housing and Redevelopment Authority pursuant to the provisions of the Minnesota Housing and Redevelopment Act, Minnesota Statutes, Section 462.411 et seq.; and ~EREAS, notice of public hearing has been published in the official newspaper pursuant to provision of Minnesota Statutes, Section 462.425 and an opportunity to be heard has been granted to all residents of the City of Roseville and to all other interested persons; and WHEREAS, facts have been submitted to the City Council showing that there is a need for a Housing and Redevelopment Authority to function in the City of Roseville; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Roseville City Council that pursuant to the Minnesota Housing and Redevelopment Act, the City Council that pursuant to the Minnesota Housing and Redevelopment Act, the City Council hereby finds, determines, and declares: 1. There is a need to prevent substandard, slum and blight areas in Roseville which could not be redeveloped without government assistance; 2. There is a need to prevent a situation where adequate housing accommodations would not be available to veterans or servicemen and their families;
