<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA - HELD March 31, 1975 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting <br />of the City Council of Roseville, Minnesota was duly held at the <br />City Hall in said City on Monday, March 31, 1975, at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mayor Linebarger, <br />Councilmen Demos, Hess, Brennan and Curley <br /> <br />and the following were absent: None <br /> <br />Councilman Demos introduced and moved the adoption <br />of the following resolution: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6241 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville supports the intent of <br />the open meeting law which is to have the public business conducted <br />openly so that th~ublic can be informed of the decisions and actions <br />being taken, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, nevertheless there are certain matters of a confid- <br />ential nature which may not be in the public interest at a particular <br />time to disclose publicly, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Attorney General has rendered an oplnlon which <br />appears to be more restrictive than the legislature intended. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of <br />the City of Roseville respectfully urge the Minnesota State Legislature <br />to consider changes to the open meeting law which would provide for <br />amendments to the law as proposed in the draft legislation submitted <br />by the League of Minnesota Municipalities, and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be <br />transmitted to the Governor of the State of Minnesota, Roseville's <br />legislative representatives and the League of Minnesota Municipalities. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was <br />duly seconded by Member Hess and upon vote being taken thereon, <br />the following voted in favor: All present <br /> <br />and the following voted against: None <br /> <br />WHEREUPON, said resolution was declared duly passed and <br /> <br />adopted. <br />
