EXTRACT OF MINUlES OF MEETING OF THE CIlY COUNCIL OF ROSbVILLE, MINNESOTA, HELD FEBRUARY 9, 1976 * ~ * * * * * * * * ~ * * * * * * * * ~ * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was held in said City Hall, 2701 North Lexington Avenue, in said City on Monday, the 9th day of February, 1976. The following members were present: Curley, Grauel, Hess, .Anderson and Demos; and the following were absent: None. Member Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 6345 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING A STIJDY OF METROPOLITAN SIGNIFICANCE WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of Minnesota and various communities in the Metropolitan Twin City Area are contemplating the construction of a major sports stadium in the area; and "WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Council has been directed by the Legislature of the State of Minnesota to review all projects which have a ~~tropolitan Significance; and WHEREAS, The construction and use of a major stadium will have an impact on the ~tropoli tan systems of transportation and sewers; and WHEREAS, The use of such a stadium will have certain effects on the systems, and use and facilities in adjacent communities; and WHEREAS, The proposed locations at the University of Minnesota and the Minneapolis Industrial Square site are near the City of Roseville and will therefore effect the land use and facilities of the City of Roseville. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED That the Council of the City of Rose- ville, Minnesota, requests that the Metropolitan Council conduct an in-depth study of the Metropolitan Significance of the construction and use of any major sports complex-stadium and its location on the Metropolitan Systems and its impact on adjacent municipalities
