<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF tvlEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA - HELD SEPTEMBER 13, 1976 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting <br />of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly held <br />in the City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive, in said City, on Monday, <br />the 13th day of September, 1976, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mayor Demos, <br />Councilmen Anderson, Curley, Grauel and Hess <br /> <br />and the following were absent: None <br /> <br />Councilman Anderson introduced the following resolution <br />and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6417 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, several years ago the State Highway Department <br />turned back Lexington Avenue to Ramsey COlmty and provided flIDding to <br />bring this roadway up to standard; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, substantial time and effort have been put into <br />selecting the appropriate method of bringing this roadway up to standard; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the most recent Citizen Committee Plan for provid- <br />ing a basic four lane facility with a minimum of left turn slots and <br />center medians would appear to meet at least the irrrnediate needs for <br />Lexington Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is also a need to make provisions for the <br />non-motorized public along this facility, but adequate information and <br />proposals are not presently available for this aspect of the overall <br />plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the public input on this proposal should have a <br />forum to be heard; <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville <br />hereby gives conceptual approval to the recent Citizen Committee plan <br />for upgrading Lexington Avenue through Roseville. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a need exists for providing <br />safe facilities for non-motorized public along this same corridor, but <br />additional information is still needed before actual conclusion can be <br />drawn regarding this point; <br />
