EXTRACr OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COONCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE, HElD APRIL 25, 1977 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular rreeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly held at the City Hall in said City on Monday, April 25, 1977, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. '!he following rrerrbers were present: Mayor Demos, Council- :trent Hess, Anderson, Curley and Grauel. and the following were absent: None ~r Cur ley intrcduced and 1l'Oved the adoption of the following resolution: RESOLUTION NO. 6484 WHEmAS, APe-8, open burning regulation of the Minnesota Polution Control Agency bans wtdoor burning in the '!Win City rretra- politan area and; WHEREAS, the ban on burning has resulted in significantly nore rraterials being placed in our sanitary landfills and; WHEREAS, the rretropolican area is already experiencing a shortage of available land for landfills and WHEREAS, the burning ban has caused increased cost for citizens because they must pay for the rercoval of i terns fran their property and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Polution Control Agency has the authority to change the regulation regarding the burning ban; NCM, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Roseville supports a change in APe-8 which \\Ulld permit munici- palities to establish one week in the spring and one week in the fall for the open burning of yard debris. '!he notion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Hess and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: All present and the following voted against the sarre: None. WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
