EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 24th day of July, 1995, at 5:30 p.m. The following members were present: Mastel, P. Johnson, Wiski, Goedeke, and V. Johnson, and the following were absent: None. Member Goedeke introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 9201 RELATING TO THE ADMINISTRATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A TRAFFIC SAFETY GRANT BY THE ROSEVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has continued to promote efforts to reduce traffic accidents through the funding of City enforcement efforts, specifically Safe and Sober Programs; and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has established local traffic safety projects for the Federal Fiscal Year of 1995 to 1996 to achieve the above stated purpose, promoting law enforcement and traffic safety; and WHEREAS, the Roseville Police Department is eligible to receive up to $15,000 in reimbursement for participation beginning on the date the contract is signed by the Commissioner of Finance and extending through September 30, 1996, to offset increased personnel overtime cost for traffic enforcement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Roseville Police Department enter into a grant agreement with the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety, for the following purpose: to reimburse the Roseville Police Department for money spent for approved activities in connection with the Safe and Sober Community's program of local DWI, speed, and seat belt enforcement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Project Director, the Chief of Police, or designated representative of the Roseville Police Department is hereby authorized to apply for and execute such agreement and any amendment thereto. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Mastel, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mastel, P. Johnson, Wiski, Goedeke, and V. Johnson, and the following voted against the same: None. WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
