~m. LE CUYER~ Put it over our shoulder and drag it over.
This (inaudible) by sacking hose to the hydrant reduces the
amount of flow that then you can take to the fire truck because
you normally should pressurize from the hydrant to the fire
scene in order to get an adequate fire flow.

COUNCIL~1AN FRANKE: $25,000.00 at 8% interest we're talking
about - maybe - what would that be over a period of 20 years?
Is the 8% reducing?

MR. POPOVICH: You would pay a little over $1,000.00 the
first year on principal and 8% on $25,000.00 would be added to
that.

COUNCILMAN FRANKE: So we're talking about $1,500.00 a
year. This would be about $100.00 a month, and out of that
complex, don't you think you could increase your rents enough?

MR. GOLDMAN: No. Taxes were increased $1,500.00. Unable
to raise the rents at all.

COUNCILMAN FRANKE: You don't think $1,500.00 a year would
be worth the protection?

MR. GOLDMAN: It's not needed. Never has been.

COUNCILMAN FRANKE: I think one life lost would be worth
$25,000.00.

MR. GOLDMAN: I do too. We take every precaution possible
there.

COUNCILMAN FRANKE: Thirteen fires in a year is not a good
record.

MR. GOLDMAN: Those buildings are inspected every day.

COUNCILMAN FRANKE: You take the fire they had at Rose-
wood, and those buildings are newer.

MR. GOLDHAN: I wouldn't go along with it.

COUNCILMM~ FRANKE: That's all right. That's your pre-
rogative.

MAYOR DEl>10S: Is there a motion at this time, or any
further discussion by the Council?

Councilman Anderson then introduced the following resolu-
tion and moved its adoption~

4
