<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF THE CI'lY COUNCIL OF <br />ROSEVILLE, MINNFSOI'A - HElD <br />January 22, 1979 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />* * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular <br />rreeting of the City Council of the City of Foseville, Minnesota, <br />2660 Civic Center Drive, was duly held in the City Hall, on <br />Monday, January 22, 1979, at 7:30P.M. <br /> <br />'lhe follaving menbers were present: Mayor n:rros, <br />Counciln'en Curley, Anderson, Franke and Kehr <br /> <br />and the following were absent: None <br /> <br />Menber Kehr introduced the follaving resolution and rroved <br />its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLtJrION NO. 6776 <br /> <br />RFSOLUI'ICN OF PARTICIPATION IN <br />MINNESOI'A CITIES WEEK <br /> <br />WHEREAS, February 26 through March 2, has been proclaiIred <br />as "Minnesota Cities Week" by the Governor of the State of Minnesota; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, city governnents offer the best opportunity for <br />rrost Minnesota citizens to take an active part in the political processes <br />which so profoundly influence their lives; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the recognition of the significance of city govern- <br />rrent by designation of a city governnent week will provide an opportunity <br />to prorrote even greater citizen understanding and involverrent; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, designation of a special week for recognition of city <br />governnent will provide opportunities for greater understanding of the <br />role of cities in relation to other units of local, regional and state <br />governnent by governnental officers and employees; <br /> <br />NCW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Foseville City <br />Council officially recognizes Minnesota Cities Week and corrmits this <br />city to such prorrotional and other city week acti vi ties as the Council <br />shall herewith and hereafter direct. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER DIROCTED, that copies of this resolution be pro- <br />vided to Governor Albert H. Quie, the League of Minnesota Cities, and the <br />official newspapers, as well as other local news rredia. <br /> <br />The notion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was <br />duly seconded by M:mber Curley, and upon vote being taken thereon, the <br />follaving voted in favor: All present <br /> <br />and the following voted against: None. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON, said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
