EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF THE CI'lY COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE, MINNFSOI'A - HElD January 22, 1979 * * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular rreeting of the City Council of the City of Foseville, Minnesota, 2660 Civic Center Drive, was duly held in the City Hall, on Monday, January 22, 1979, at 7:30P.M. 'lhe follaving menbers were present: Mayor n:rros, Counciln'en Curley, Anderson, Franke and Kehr and the following were absent: None Menber Kehr introduced the follaving resolution and rroved its adoption: RESOLtJrION NO. 6776 RFSOLUI'ICN OF PARTICIPATION IN MINNESOI'A CITIES WEEK WHEREAS, February 26 through March 2, has been proclaiIred as "Minnesota Cities Week" by the Governor of the State of Minnesota; and WHEREAS, city governnents offer the best opportunity for rrost Minnesota citizens to take an active part in the political processes which so profoundly influence their lives; and WHEREAS, the recognition of the significance of city govern- rrent by designation of a city governnent week will provide an opportunity to prorrote even greater citizen understanding and involverrent; and WHEREAS, designation of a special week for recognition of city governnent will provide opportunities for greater understanding of the role of cities in relation to other units of local, regional and state governnent by governnental officers and employees; NCW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Foseville City Council officially recognizes Minnesota Cities Week and corrmits this city to such prorrotional and other city week acti vi ties as the Council shall herewith and hereafter direct. BE IT FURTHER DIROCTED, that copies of this resolution be pro- vided to Governor Albert H. Quie, the League of Minnesota Cities, and the official newspapers, as well as other local news rredia. The notion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by M:mber Curley, and upon vote being taken thereon, the follaving voted in favor: All present and the following voted against: None. WHEREUPON, said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
