<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE ROSEVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL - HELD APRIL 23, 1979 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting <br />of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly <br />called and held at the City Hall in said City on Monday, April 23, <br />1979, at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mayor Demos, Councilmen <br />Anderson, CUrley, Franke and Kehr <br /> <br />and the following were absent: None <br /> <br />MemberAnderson introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6808 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, During the year of 1976 the City of Roseville <br />participated in a Ramsey County Joint Law Enforcement Assistance <br />Administration grant for radio upgrading; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Roseville had eight (8) mobile radio <br />units modified and other communities in Ramsey County had other <br />mobiles modified under this grant and they did not perform in a <br />satisfactory manner; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, All possible methods of further modification have <br />been eliminated; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The only method to correct this situation is to <br />purchase new units; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The grant application requests funds under the <br />following formula: 90% federal, 5% state, 5% local; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County is the most appropriate sponsoring <br />unit of government because the grant is multi-jurisdictional; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT <br /> <br />RESOLVED, That the City of Roseville hereby authorizes Ramsey <br />County to act as the fiscal agent, sponsoring unit and implementing <br />agency for the grant project entitled Acquisition of Mobile Radio <br />Units; and BE IT FURTHER <br /> <br />RESOLVED, That the City of Roseville encumbers $800 to be <br />provided as local match for eight (8) radios to be received by the <br />City of Roseville; and BE IT FURTHER <br /> <br />RESOLVED, That the St. Paul-Ramsey County Criminal Justice <br />Coordinating Council is authorized to make application to the Minnesota <br />Crime Control Planning Board to include this grant in the FY 1980 block <br />grant; and BE IT FURTHER <br /> <br />RESOLVED, That the City Council Resolution #6792 dated February <br />26, 1979 is hereby rescinded. <br />
