Date: January 25, 2011 Item No: 7 <br />Item Description: Undergrounding of Overhead Electric Lines Policy Discussion <br />Background: As part of the public information process for the Dale Street reconstruction <br />project, residents requested that the City pursue the undergrounding of the overhead utilities <br />within the project limits. City staff brought this request to the City Council for discussion at the <br />Public Hearing for that project on January 10, 2011. The City Council requested that staff work <br />on identifying what issues would need to be addressed in order to develop a city wide utility <br />undergrounding policy. <br />We have attached the section of the Feasibility Report to provide additional background. <br />Staff had developed an online survey to assist us in better understanding neighborhood opinion <br />regarding this utility undergrounding.
