2

The sanitary sewer had to be extended along Transit to the
east to serve not only the new area where new lines were built
for Mr. Cave, but also some of the undeveloped property on the
south.

The green areas indicate new storm lines that were necessary
for draining the public roadways. The roads that were constructed
were 7-ton residential style streets in the two cul-de-sacs on
Marion and Woodbridge - a 7-ton, 32 foot width, curb and gutter
street along most of the distance of Tr ansit from Galtier to
200 feet from Rice, and the remaining portion adjacent to the
commercially zoned land was constructed at 9-tons to accommodate
the anticipated heavier traffic and heavier loading.

MR. POPOVICH: The total cost is $195,648. Of that amount,
$9,114 will be spread on general taxes, and the balance of
$186,534 on special assessments.

The sanitary sewer portion which is $41,401 will be 100%
assessed.

The water assessed will be $32,903.60 which is also 100%
assessed.

The street portion is $121,343 and that's the portion on which
the $9,114 will be on general taxes.

There are several different assessment rates, but it's
important to point out that the residential property which would
normally be assessed at $21.05 a front foot - the property owners
are scheduled to pay only 22%, or $4.63 a front foot, and that's
the residential property on Transit Avenue on the lower part.

The Cave development, of course, is 100% assessed, and the
9-ton design on Transit - that portion will b~ 100% assessed,
spread over 20 years at 8% with the usual rights of prepayment.

MR. ANDRE: There were no written communications.

Mayor Demos announced that the meeting was open for the considera-
tion of objections, if any, to the proposed assessment. All persons
present were given the opportunity to present oral objections.

No one appeared to be heard.

Mayor Demos closed the hearing, and Councilman Kehr intro-
duced the following resolution and moved its adoption:

RESOLUTION NO. 6876

RESOLUTION ADOPTING AND CONFIRMING
ASSESS~mNTS FOR I~WROVEMENT NO.
