Human Rights Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 14, 2010 <br />Commissioners Present: Chair David Singleton; Commissioners Gary Grefenberg, Liz <br />Jaeger, Thelma McKenzie, Marie Oftelie and Barb Yates. <br />Commissioner Peg Kennedy arrived at 6:45 p.m. <br />1. Call to Order: Chair David Singleton called meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. The Clerk <br />called the roll. <br />2. Approve Minutes of August 18, 2010 <br />Commissioner Barb Yates moved and Commissioner Liz Jaeger seconded approval of the <br />minutes. Motion prevailed unanimously. <br />3. Staff /Committee Reports <br />3a. Visions of Success Subcommittee <br />Commissioner Jaeger said the subcommittee had not met but they have been working on the <br />October forum that would be reported on later in the meeting. <br />3b. Program Planners Subcommittee <br />Commissioners Gary Grefenberg and Marie Oftelie said the subcommittee had not met. <br />3c. Data Geeks Subcommittee <br />Commissioner Yates said the subcommittee had not met. <br />Carolyn Curti distributed a Wilder Foundation Homeless in Minnesota summary report based on <br />findings of its 2009 statewide survey. <br />3d. Financial Report <br />Carolyn Curti stated that the financial report was up to date. <br />4. Business Items <br />4a. Community Dialogue, Monday, October 25, Skating Center <br />Carolyn Curti updated commissioners on the planning. Two of the three speakers have been <br />identified, A Muslim man who works in Roseville will talk about his experience and a woman <br />with a disability will write a statement about living with a disability. The statement will be read <br />by Forum Planner Ann Berry who will also talk about her experience with a hidden disability. <br />
