City of <br />lei <br />Minnesota, USA <br />Human Rights Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 14, 2007 <br />Present: Chair Janet Delmore; Commissioners Pam Bosch, Tam McGehee and Marie <br />Oftelie. <br />Absent: Commissioners Philip Crump, Thelma McKenzie and Bob Venters. <br />Others Present: Rowzat Shipchandler, Manager of "Facing Race We're All in This <br />Together," anti racism initiative for the Saint Paul Foundation, and <br />Recording Secretary Carolyn Curti. <br />Prior to the meeting, Chair Janet Delmore administered the Oath of Office to new Commissioner <br />Marie Oftelie. <br />Call to Order: Chair Delmore called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Commissioner McGehee moved and Commissioner Bosch seconded approval of the May 8, <br />2007 meeting minutes as presented. Motion carried 4/0. <br />We're All in This Together <br />Chair Delmore introduced Rowzat Shipchandler, Project Manager for "Facing Race" who <br />facilitated the "We're All in This Together" discussion. Commissioners watched segments of the <br />program and then held discussions about what was seen. <br />Following the presentation, Commissioners reacted positively to the program and discussed <br />possible ways to bring the program in the community. Commissioners agreed to discuss and <br />make plans at the August Human Rights Commission meeting. <br />Adjournment <br />Meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m. <br />
