Human Rights Commission <br /> Meeting Minutes <br />November 10, 2009 <br /> <br />Commissioners Present: Chair David Singleton ; Commissioners Gary Grefenberg, Liz <br />Jaeger, Peg Kennedy, Thelma McKenzie, Marie Oftelie and <br />Barbara Yates. <br /> <br />Call to Order: Chair David Singleton called mee ting to order at 6:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Approve Minutes of October 13, 2009 <br /> <br />Commissioner Gary Grefenberg moved and Commissioner Barb Yates seconded approval of the <br />October 13, 2009 minutes. Motion prevailed unanimously. <br /> <br />Recognitions <br /> <br />Chair David Singleton recognized Commissioners Thelma McKenzie and Marie Oftelie for co- <br />chairing the Forum Planning Comm ittee. He thanked them for their work and presented <br />McKenzie, Oftelie, Gary Grefenberg, Liz Jaeger and Carolyn Curti with a Certificate of <br />Appreciation for organizi ng the Community Dialogue. <br /> <br />Recess for Commission Trai ning and Goal Setting <br /> <br />Chair Singleton announced the Commission would re cess to continue the training provided by <br />Richard Fursman and Irina Furs man, with Global Synergy Group. <br /> <br />Reconvene <br /> <br />Chair Singleton reconvened th e Commission at 8:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Announcements <br /> <br />Commissioner Grefenberg notified other Commis sioners that the City Council was proposing <br />cutting 75% of the Human Ri ghts Commission’s budget. He enc ouraged others to contact <br />Councilmembers and express th eir concern over the cuts. <br /> <br />Commissioner Grefenberg clarified that whenever he suggested changes to the minutes, those <br />changes only pertained to things he said. <br /> <br />Carolyn Curti reminded Commissioners that the e ssay entries would be collected on Friday and <br />distributed to them for review the following week. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br />Chair Singleton adjourned the meeting at 8:40 p.m.
