Call to Order <br />1 <br />Chair Doherty called to order the Planning Commission meeting at approximately 6:30 <br />2 <br />p.m. and reviewed the role and purpose of the Planning Commission. <br />3 <br />2. Roll Call & Introductions <br /> <br />4 <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br />5 <br />Members Present: Chair Jim Doherty; and Commissioners Joe Wozniak; Andre <br />6 <br />Best; John Gisselquist; Glenn Cook; and Thomas Gottfried. <br />7 <br />Members Excused: Member Daniel Boerigter. <br />8 <br />Staff present: City Planner Thomas Paschke and Associate Planner Bryan <br />9 <br />Lloyd. <br />10 <br />3. Public Hearings <br />23 <br />Chair Doherty reviewed the purpose and process for public hearings before the Planning <br />24 <br />Commission. <br />25 <br />a. Planning File 10-014 <br />26 <br />Request by Minnesota Irrigation Distribution Center (MIDC) to approve <br />27 <br />outdoor storage of irrigation equipment and supplies at 1450 County Road <br />28 <br />C as an INTERIM USE <br />29 <br />Chair Doherty opened the Public Hearing for Planning File 10-014 at 6:37 p.m. <br />30 <br />Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd reviewed staff’s analysis of the request by MIDC <br />31 <br />for outdoor storage of irrigation system supplies as an INTERIM USE in order to <br />32 <br />account for the existing nonconforming use. <br />33 <br />Mr. Lloyd advised that an INTERIM USE approval would allow better regulation <br />34 <br />and enforcement of those items currently being stored outdoors on this site; <br />35 <br />address long-term and ongoing complaints of adjacent residential property <br />36 <br />owners; and provide the City’s Code Enforcement staff to address continuing non <br />37 <br />compliance challenges on this site. <br />38 <br />Staff recommended approval of the requested INTERIM USE for MIDC to allow <br />39 <br />the outdoor storage of irrigation supplies at 1450 County Road C, based on the <br />40 <br />comments and findings of Sections 4-6 and the conditions of Section 7 of the <br />41 <br />Request for Planning Commission Action dated May 5, 2010. <br />42 <br /> <br />
