<br />Planning Commission Board Meeting <br />City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Minutes - Wednesday, August 04, 2010 <br />1. Call to Order <br />1 <br />Upon arrival of a quorum of Commissioners, Chair Doherty called to order the Planning <br />2 <br />Commission meeting at approximately 5:39 p.m.; and reviewed the role and purpose of <br />3 <br />the Planning Commission. <br />4 <br />2. Roll Call & Introductions <br /> <br />5 <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br />6 <br />Members Present: Chair Jim Doherty; and Commissioners Joe Wozniak; Andre <br />7 <br />Best; Thomas Gottfried; with Commissioner Glenn Cook arriving <br />8 <br />at 5:46 p.m. <br />9 <br />Members Excused: Commissioners Daniel Boerigter and John Gisselquist <br />10 <br />Staff present: City Planner Thomas Paschke; Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd <br />11 <br />3. Review of Minutes <br />12 <br />Action was held for arrival of a quorum. <br />13 <br />4. Communications and Recognitions: <br />14 <br />a. From the Public (Public Comment on items not on the agenda) <br />15 <br />Cedric Adams, 556 West County Road C (PID <br />12-29-23-22-0033) <br />16 <br />Mr. Adams noted that his previously identified property at County Road C and <br />17 <br />Dale Street, a portion of which was a corner lot with significant topography <br />18 <br />issues, was not shown on the list of properties for review. Mr. Adams advised <br />19 <br />that he had respectively requested of both the Planning Commission and City <br />20 <br />Council that this item remain as LR-1 and considered as one of the anomaly <br />21 <br />properties for further review and recommendation. <br />22 <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke apologized to Mr. Adams, noting that his property <br />23 <br />was inadvertently omitted from the list of properties for review; and advised that <br />24 <br />the process would be initiated in August; advising Mr. Adams that, staff would <br />25 <br />respond to his written communication, as well as tonight’s verbal reminder, once <br />26 <br />the docket date had been established. Mr. Paschke thanked Mr. Adams for the <br />27 <br />reminder. <br />28 <br />b. From the Commission or Staff <br />29 <br />Mr. Paschke noted a correction in the special meeting date scheduled for <br />30 <br />Wednesday, August 25, rather as indicated for August 26, 2010. <br />31 <br />5. Public Hearings - New <br />32 <br />Chair Doherty reviewed the purpose and process for public hearings before the Planning <br />33 <br />Commission. <br />34 <br />Member Cook arrived at this time; approximately 5:46 p.m. <br />35 <br />a. PLANNING FILE 10-016 <br />36 <br />Request by McAdam Majors for approval of a 1,008 square foot accessory <br />37 <br />structure as a CONDITIONAL USE at 1863 Chatsworth Street <br />38 <br />Chair Doherty opened the Public Hearing for Planning File 10-016 at 5:47 p.m. <br />39 <br />Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd reviewed staff’s analysis of the request by Mr. <br />40 <br />Majors to replace an existing detached garage at his residence with a new, larger <br />41 <br />detached garage. Mr. Lloyd reviewed summarized impacts of the proposed <br />42 <br />CONDITIONAL USE, as detailed in the staff report dated August 4, 2010. Mr. <br />43 <br />Lloyd noted the proposed removal of the parking area behind the home with the <br />44 <br /> <br />
