<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 9th day of October, 1994 at 5: 30 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />The following were present: Wiski, P. Johnson, Goedeke, Mastel, and V. <br />JohnSon , and the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member P. JohnsoJintroduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9243 <br />APPLICATION FOR MINNESOTA RELEAF PLANTING ENERGY CONSERVATION <br />GRANT AND COMMITMENT TO 10 YEAR TREE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Roseville recognizes the need to reduce energy consumption as much <br />as possible to reduce atmospheric carbon; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville is committed to the improvement of the environment through <br />the planting of trees that provide sun shade and wind screening; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of RoseviIle has a plan to maintain and support the growth of planted <br />trees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the RoseviIle Tree Board recommends that the City make application to the <br />Minnesota ReLEAF for matching grant funds to shade and screen the OVAL to <br />reduce energy consumption; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this site will serve as an educational model for the community in how to reduce <br />energy; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville, authorizes the application <br />for a Minnesota ReLEAF grant and, if approved, commits to a prescribed 10 maintenance <br />program for the planted trees. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Goed~ke <br />and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Wi ski, P. Johnsen, <br />Goedeke, Mastel; and V. Johnson, and the following voted against the <br />same: None. <br />
