EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY COUNCIL HELD - MONDAY, JULY 14, 1980 * * * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly held in the City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive, in said City on Monday, July 14, 1980, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. The following members were present: Mayor Demos, Councilmen Kehr, Curl~y, Franke and Anderson and the following were absent: None Member Anderson moved its adoption: introduced the following resolution and RESOLUTION NO. 6964 WHEREAS, THE 1980 Legislature did amend Minnesota Statutes of 1978, Section 169.14, Sub. 5b, and WHEREAS, such sub-section now provides the means for a city to establish the speed limit on such roadways in accordance with state regulations; and WHEREAS, Old Highway 8 from County Road C-2 to County Road D qualifies as an "urban district roadway" and currently has a speed limit in excess of 30 miles per hour; and WHEREAS, said roadway is in an extensively residential setting making it undesirable to have speeds in excess of 30 miles per hour; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Roseville City Council does hereby establish Old Highway 8 from County Road C-2 to County Road D as an "urban district roadway" as defined in Section 159.01, subdivision 59 of the State Statutes; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the speed limit on said roadway is hereby set at 30 miles per hour. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Kehr and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: All t presen and the following voted against the same: None WHEREUPON SAID RESOLUTION was declared duly passed and adopted.
