April 12, 2011 <br /> Item 4B <br /> Program Planners Subcommittee <br /> Date: ' April 4, 2011 <br /> To: Human Rights Commission <br /> From: Gary Grefenberg <br /> Program Planners Committee <br /> Re: Current Status Update on Civic Engagement Effort <br /> The following attached documents exemplify what has occurred since <br /> our last Commission meeting in early March: <br /> 1) a proposal from consultant Anne Carroll which has been <br /> accepted; <br /> 2) a press release asking for volunteers for the Civic Engagement <br /> Task Force; and <br /> 3) a summary of civic engagement core values which will be <br /> reviewed at the first meeting of the Civic Engagement Task <br /> Force. <br /> The press release was drafted by me with Carolyn Curti's assistance. <br /> Both Mayor Dan Roe and Council member Tammy Pust collaborated in <br /> giving me their quotes. <br /> Please feel free to raise any issues, concerns, or questions at the <br /> Commission meeting. I would especially value any comments on #3, <br /> the Core Values for Civic Engagement document.
