1 Chair Ferrington noted changes made to the report following discussion at the July 2010 meeting
2 of the GLWMO Board.
3
4 Mr. Petersen noted that several items of constructive criticism had been incorporated into the
5 final document and sought Board approval for publication.
6
7 Minor revisions were noted to the document presented as follows:
8
9 Page 3
10 Reference to the GLWMO and conservation practice assistance program (Eckman)
11 Correction to the GLWMO website Ferrington)
12 Letter from Chair Ferrington, 2 paragraph, last sentence: sources and sinks; and references
13 for staff to administrate... program's financial assistance "to install..." (Eckman)
14 Designation of Chair and Vice Chair and removal of Chair Ferrington's title of "Doctor"
15
16 Chair Ferrington noted that a substantive increase in the amount of information provided from
17 past annual reports had been achieved and expressed his sincere appreciation to Mr. Petersen for
18 the quality of the report.
19
20 Mr. Maloney arrived at this time; approximately 5:13 p.m.
21
22 Member Manzara expressed concern that on the last page, the context for trends may be difficult
23 to understand for the general public, including references to "secchi disc" reading related to clear
24 water values. Mr. Petersen suggested that an additional column could be added for comparisons
25 of clarity with other lakes.
26
27 Chair Ferrington noted that the online lake finder had categories, and if acceptable to the Board,
28 that URL could be included in the report for reference.
29
30 Member Manzara noted the unlikelihood of people actually taking the next step to look up that
31 information.
32
33 Mr. Petersen referenced the language of the third paragraph under the chart for reference.
34
35 Ms. Lewis suggested that the Board consider doing a graph of secchi readings for comparison,
36 rather than just an average, a way of illustrating trends that she'd seen used in other reports.
37
38 Member Manzara questioned the value of such a graph to answer the public's desired
39 information.
40
41 Member Eckman spoke in support of linking to the lake finder.
42
43 Mr. Petersen advised that he would seek input from Mr. Terry Noonan for translation of data into
44 layperson terminology to provide a context; and advised that he would make the grammatical
45 revisions as noted and work with Chair Ferrington for his final approval within the next week, if
46 that was the consensus of the Board.
2
