8

MR. BARNEY RINGSRUD, 1447 West Burke:

(Inaudible)

MRS. ~~RY BESEMER, 1421 Burke: We are definitely in favor of
the improvement on the street.

MAYOR DEMOS: May I ask if the person who called me probably on
the second or third day of July in 1978 when the water was
waist deep on Pascal Avenue is here.

FROM THE AUDIENCE: He drowned

MR. GEORGE JOHNSON, 1425 West Burke: I am in favor of the
project. I will say, however, that years ago Mr. Fox had a water
easement between his house and his neighbor's and that has been
closed since County Road B was upgraded and there's really not much
of a water problem in my yard and our neighbor's yard on up the
street. At one time it was a big problem but the easement has
been filled in (inaudible).

MR. JOHN WOOLEY, 1455 West Burke: I live on the corner of
Burke and Pascal, and you're right, in 1978 the water was waist
deep. It was deeper than that. In Har Mar they were swimming in
the parking lot, so we need it and we need the storm sewer too
and the water does come down my back yard from way up the street.
I don't particularly care, but I think it needs to be carried away.

MAYOR DEMOS: Anyone else who wishes to speak for or against?
If not I will close the hearing.

COUNCILMAN FRANKE: What happens if we don't do the storm
drainage?

MR. HONCHELL: Then it's my recommendation that the roadway
not be paved.

MAYOR DEMOS: Is there an existing easement along the rear lot
lines between Burke and County Road B-2?

MR. HONCHELL: Not to my knowledge.

MAYOR DEMOS: The only easement that shows on these maps
(inaudible) .

FROM THE AUDIENCE: That was 26 years ago (inaudible) the
drainage field when we got our property - before the lots were
built.

COUNCILMAN KEHR: Does a swale exist between those property
lines?

MR. HONCHELL: Not a defined swale. We're using visual obser-
vations, not sight surveys but there is a noted difference in the
elevations. In other words, both back yards slope to the common
line. From there it appears it flows westerly to Pascal.
