EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br /> of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 21 day of March 2011, <br /> at 6:00 p.m. <br /> The following members were present: Pust, Wilimus, Johnson, McGehee and Roe. <br /> and the following were absent: none. <br /> Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION No. 10885 <br /> Supporting the efforts to create a Yellow Ribbon Community <br /> WHEREAS, The City of Roseville supports military services members who are serving <br /> in the United States and overseas to protect the values and freedoms <br /> enjoyed by our citizens; and <br /> WHEREAS, When a soldier is deployed, the burden on the family that remains at home <br /> can be overwhelming; and <br /> WHEREAS, The effects of deployment do not end when the soldier returns home and <br /> the family is reunited, that reintegration into the family can take months <br /> for some families and years for others; <br /> WHEREAS, A Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Community will build on the existing <br /> strength of our community, organizations and individuals by increasing <br /> awareness and addressing the needs of military members and their spouses <br /> and children throughout deployment, reintegration and homecoming in <br /> ways that lessen the burdens on the military families; and <br /> WHEREAS, A Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Community Partnership with neighboring <br /> cities, will strengthen our efforts to connect military families with a <br /> community network of support that is understood and trusted by military <br /> families in which military families can access information and services <br /> during the deployment-reintegration cycle; and <br /> WHEREAS, Roseville is home to the 347th Regional Support Group with the <br /> Minnesota National Guard unit; and <br />
