on (inaudible). So the surface was seal-coated, or given a
new finish, so it would be uniform in appearance. That's not
the standard method of the City. We do go through and seal-
coat all of our streets on about a seven year program
(inaudible) try and prolong their life. It's not a standard
finish on a new roadway.

MR. EDWIN STEIIDvALL: I see. That oil is still loose.
You walk on it in the summertime and it's still sticky in some
places. I was just wondering about that. Thank you.

MAYOR DEMOS: Anyone else? Is there anyone else that
wishes to be heard?

MR. JAMES BUMP, 1407 Brenner: I've been out there five
years. I know what you mean about the sewer on the corner on
the cul~de-sac. We have water in front of our house quite a
bit. . It doesn't last that long, but I am in favor of the
project. One question I have, what about the driveways? You
said there were no driveways on Pas.cal. There are two.

MR. HONCHELL: I apologize. I was thinking that all of
those came out the other side (inaudible). Any driveways
that there are on Pascal between Brenner and Clarmar would be
treated similarly to what I just spoke about on Clarmar.
Namely, that if there are any adjustments to elevation and if
there's any damage done at the time of construction, that
would be taken care of by the contractor as part of the
project. They would match.

MR. JAMES BUMP: Would there be any extra charge for
these driveways then?

MR. HONCHELL: No. Whether your driveway has to be
adjusted back a few feet or whether it doesn't, there's no
specific extra charge to that lot.

MR. JAMES BUMP: Thank you.

COUNCILMAN KEHR: Can I ask you a question Hr. Honchell?
You've repeated it several times - street, curb and gutter and
associated work. Can you define associated work for me please?

MR. HONCHELL: Associated work is kind of a catch-all to
say things like, if we have to repair a driveway, we may have
to do some sodding, you put in curb and gutter and there's
usually some damage to the ground immediately beside the curb
and gutter as they're putting the forms in or doing the excava-
tion. It may mean that if there's a tree in the right-of-way
that has to be removed, it's included. It may mean that
(inaudible) Clarmar, there's a culvert existing that someone
referred to earlier that runs across Clarmar near Hamline. It
will be taking that culvert out. In some cases there are some
other facilities that have to be adjusted. They are what we

4
