<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA - HELD SEPTEMBER 28, 1981 <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting <br />of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly <br />held in the City Hall in said City on Monday, the 28th day of <br />September, 1981, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. <br /> <br />The following members were present: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Member I<.eh r <br />moved its adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 7259 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act and the <br />State Natural Resources Fund provi des for '!he making of grants to <br />assist local public bodies in the acquisition and development of <br />outdoor recreation projects, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville desires to acquire certain <br />land known as Langton Lake Park which land is to be held and used <br />for permanent open space, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order for the proposed project to be eligible <br />for approval, there must be proof that it is part of a comprehen- <br />sive outdoor recreation plan and 5-year action program (capital <br />improvement), and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has an original or revised <br />5-year action program which includes Langton Lake Park, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is estimated that the cost of acquiring said <br />interest shall be $177,000, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, upon project approval, the City of Roseville must <br />enter into formal grant project agreements with the state for the <br />specific purpose of acquiring Langton Lake Park: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE City Council of <br />the City of Roseville <br /> <br />1. That an application be made to the State of Minnesota, <br />Department of Economic Development, Office of Local and <br />Urban Affairs for a grant from the Land and Water Con- <br />servation Fund of 1965, as amended, for an amount pre- <br />sently estimated to be $88,500 and the applicant will <br />pay the balance of the cost from other funds available <br />to it. <br />
