EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA - HELD SEPTEMBER 28, 1981 * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly held in the City Hall in said City on Monday, the 28th day of September, 1981, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. The following members were present: and the following were absent: Member I<.eh r moved its adoption: introduced the following resolution and RESOLUTION NO. 7259 WHEREAS, the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act and the State Natural Resources Fund provi des for '!he making of grants to assist local public bodies in the acquisition and development of outdoor recreation projects, and WHEREAS, the City of Roseville desires to acquire certain land known as Langton Lake Park which land is to be held and used for permanent open space, and WHEREAS, in order for the proposed project to be eligible for approval, there must be proof that it is part of a comprehen- sive outdoor recreation plan and 5-year action program (capital improvement), and WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has an original or revised 5-year action program which includes Langton Lake Park, and WHEREAS, it is estimated that the cost of acquiring said interest shall be $177,000, and WHEREAS, upon project approval, the City of Roseville must enter into formal grant project agreements with the state for the specific purpose of acquiring Langton Lake Park: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE City Council of the City of Roseville 1. That an application be made to the State of Minnesota, Department of Economic Development, Office of Local and Urban Affairs for a grant from the Land and Water Con- servation Fund of 1965, as amended, for an amount pre- sently estimated to be $88,500 and the applicant will pay the balance of the cost from other funds available to it.
